title SOCIAL PROGRAMMING

REAL LIFE STORIES

The new series of Racconti di Vita (Real Life Stories), broadcast from Sunday the 9th November, on Raitre at 12.30, will take us into those almost invisible worlds where the initiatives of volunteers, social workers and public or private institutions meet up with people's needs. Most are spaces that have been created to respond to emergencies and social difficulty even in places where sharing and participating are needed to reconstruct paths for life or to guarantee a guideline, social integration and rights. Often these realities are represented by real cases and by social situations, symbols of a dream come true, of a battle won or of a political desire pursued. But there are no lack of stories of those who work in particular situations like in prisons, hospitals, welcome centres where the action of the public body is carried out together with that of the volunteer.

In these "social containers" the programme will give voice to witnesses, to reflections and analyses. To those who live them or those who have been received, who have put the project on its feet, the voluntary workers. They are concrete realities for what they represent, they are loaded with suggestions for what they mean, they are dense with emotions for what they contain, they are examples of what they have created. The real situations that are the protagonists of this new journey of "Racconti di Vita" not only offer the space but also the inspiration, around the theme proposed, memories of social and political life.

The programme will be mostly from Rome but also from other Italian cities like Turin, Milan, Bologna, Naples.

From the 2nd of May 2005, Racconti di Vita will be shown on Raitre during the late evening slot at 23.40, with a series of short films relating to the theme of social investigation indicated by the title.
