Since 1999, "Un mondo a colori" has been a Rai Educational programme dedicated to immigration and integration matters: a multi-ethnic magazine of in loco reports and investigations at 9.45 on RaiDue from Tuesday to Friday, with more than 140 episodes from October to June and 20 specials shown on RaiUno at one o'clock in the morning.
The new series offers in loco investigations, more current affairs, a close look at the multicultural situation which is appearing in our Country as well as being a way of understanding and learning more about legislation and rules governing immigration and work.
"Un mondo a colori" will try and play its part in contributing to certain matters such as:
is it right to ban people from wearing a veil when they claim to do so as a freedom of choice? What happens when cultural or religious needs clash with the law? Are Temporary Residence Centres really useful? How is the problem of the hundreds of illegal immigrants landing on our shores being handled? What changes will be made to the Bossi-Fini law? Are the bilateral agreements the answer? Is it truly possible to have real integration with those living in our Country? Is the school system, one of the nerve centres for its implementation, capable of dealing with the problem? Will our society be capable of protecting the right to a home and health?
