The multimedia catalogue, carried out by the Direzione Teche/The Audio and Video Library Management with the collaboration of the Centro Ricerche Rai/the RAI Research Centre and the Direzione ICT Rai/RAI ICT Management, is the first model of a state of the art system for the recording of audio and video material which is totally automated and based on a data base relating with objects in Europe.

The programme images (soon in full motion) are combined with the documentation of the contents, analytical or synthetic according to the type of programme and with the possibility of carrying out very exhaustive researches.

The registration includes all the programmes broadcasted by the three terrestrial channels starting with January '98 for the texts (VTEA) e with December '98 for multimedia (CMM). The recovery of the whole video archive should be carried out within the year 2006.
