ACCADE IN ESTATE (SUMMER HAPPENINGS)Stories of trips and tourism by people with disabilitiesEdited by the Italian Federation to Overcome Disabilities (www.superando.it) in collaboration with the Rai Social Action Department
The arrival of summer and the holidays represents another occasion for the disabled and their families to "test" how useful and accessible holiday resorts, hotel services, tourist centres, the transport services overall and any other aspects of tourism are for the disabled. "Accade in Estate" proposes a collection of positive and negative reports via one unique window for citizens with disabilities and their families. For years now the end of each summer signals the receipt by our editorial staff of both general and unusual stories of negative events, but also includes some positive experiences. Furthermore, these reports form one publication of partial episodes or the most extraordinary events, without involving the competent authorities. The aim of the programme is to ensure these negative events won't be experienced by anyone again. We don't take advantage of any feedback to build a positive communication campaign that goes beyond reporting an event to the authorities. Were you the protagonist or even a victim of an act of discrimination? Or a not so positive tourist welcome? Did you instead receive a pleasant service? Tell "Accade in Estate" (http://accadeinestate.eosservice.com), which will print it on its website, on the Rai Social Action website and the "Rai For Social Action" teletext page 435. You can therefore contribute to an information and sensitisation service that will improve the welcome and services for disabled people. |
