PLAY AND DISABILITYThe sly forestThe Sly Forest is an interactive story/game (on Cd rom) in which children, under the supervision of teachers at school and parents at home, can face situations, in an entertaining and educational way, which normally do not occur in their everyday lives. It is a real videogame, with cartoon characters as the protagonists: boys and girls, some ordinary children, others disabled. The project was developed by Disabili.com.
THE STORY In a castle (not far away from us), there lives a little girl, Luna, who is good and wise, with her vain and nasty stepmother, and her little sister who is confined to a wheelchair, and kept hidden away because in the castle there are too many stairs, and she cannot move around. One day the princess of darkness, the prince of silence and the prince of strength come to the castle: they want to offer their services and their abilities to the stepmother, but they are chased away, because they are "different". The stepmother decides to chase her stepdaughter away from the castle, too, because she is more beautiful that she is: the stepmother is too vain, she cannot stand it! But, thanks to the help of her three disabled friends - the princess of darkness, the prince of silence and the prince of strength - the heroine will manage to overcome a series of tests. The stepmother will be eliminated, and the heroine will return with her three friends to the castle, from which, in the meantime, the disabled sister has removed every architectural barrier. And they will live happily together ever after.
